Cookie Policy

Version 1.0.1 | Effective 6/10/2026

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This page explains exactly which cookies this site uses and — just as importantly — which it does not.

Cookies This Site Uses

Strictly necessary sign-in cookies only. When a Wanna Learn More Network (WLMN) staff member or administrator signs in to manage site content, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets session cookies so the site knows they're signed in. These cookies are essential for that sign-in to work, are not used for tracking, and are only created when someone actually signs in.

If you simply browse this site, we set no cookies that track you.

What Stays in Your Browser's Local Storage

Separate from cookies, a few things are kept in your browser's local storage:

  • Your display preference (light or dark mode). Never transmitted; stays on your device.
  • An in-progress volunteer application draft. If you start the volunteer application, your answers are saved on your device so you don't lose them if the page reloads. The draft itself stays on your device — your answers only leave it if and when you choose to submit the application, at which point the draft is removed. If you abandon the application on a shared or unsafe device, you can remove the draft yourself by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

If you're using a device someone else can access, clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of the above.

What We Don't Use

  • No analytics cookies. We do not currently run Google Analytics or any other analytics service on this site.
  • No advertising or social media pixels. No Meta Pixel, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking of any kind.
  • No third-party embeds that set cookies on our pages. Donations are processed on Givebutter's own website (givebutter.com), not embedded here — Givebutter's own cookie and privacy practices apply while you're on their site.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

We respect browser Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Because we don't track visitors at all today, these signals are honored by default — there is nothing to suppress.

If We Introduce Analytics in the Future

If WLMN adds an analytics tool (such as Google Analytics 4), we will:

  1. Update this policy and the Privacy Policy before anything changes,
  2. Ask for your consent before placing any non-essential cookie, consistent with the ePrivacy Directive and applicable US state requirements, and
  3. Continue to honor DNT and GPC signals by suppressing analytics for visitors who send them.

Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can view, block, or delete cookies through your browser's settings at any time. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies described above only affects staff sign-in — it does not change anything about ordinary browsing.

If you're concerned about your visit being visible to others on a shared device, most browsers offer a private or incognito mode that does not save history, cookies, or local storage after the session ends, and you can clear your history and this site's data after visiting any site.
